Catholic school parents seek choice – not discrimination

Recently, the Australian Law Reform Commission (ALRC) tabled its report Maximising the Realisation of Human Rights: Religious Educational Institutions and Anti-Discrimination Laws and its recommendations will have significant impact on faith-based education in Australia.
Catholic School Parents Australia, as the peak body representing all families in Catholic Schools do not support the recommendations made in the report to remove religious exemptions, and find them concerning. Read more here.

CSPA applauds Government's affordability measures

The Federal Government announced that from today, eligible families from regional, rural and remote Australia will be able to apply for scholarships up to $20,000 to go towards boarding school fees.
This announcement coincides with the establishment of a new National Referral Centre to support the rollout of the School Student Broadband Initiative (SSBI).

This year NAPLAN moved from May to March and changes were made to reporting to provide simpler, clearer and more meaningful results.
The Australian Curriculum, Assessment and Reporting Authority (ACARA) want to hear from principals and teachers, as well as parents and carers, on these changes.
